An art series born from my personal journey of recovery after a severe concussion, during which I found solace in creating analog art while in isolation. Blending analog and digital techniques, the series reflects the ongoing balance between personal struggle and healing, showing how creativity and hope can emerge even in challenging times.

Inner worlds in
the shadow of
outer chaos

Sanne Meijer

I spent three months in isolation, unable to take care of my children, work, or even enjoy reading or music, as any mental stimulation was overwhelming. Cut off from screens and sound, I found comfort in creating analog art to explore my inner world.

"After the Fall" reflects the balance between personal turmoil and inner healing. Though I’ve recovered, the lingering effects of the concussion—symptoms that may never fully disappear—continue to shape my daily life and artistic expression. This ongoing reality adds layers of complexity to my work, influencing how I engage with both the world and my creative process.

Blending analog and digital techniques, this series documents my journey of healing and self-discovery. It reflects the search for inner peace amidst personal challenges, showing how creation and hope can emerge even in the darkest times.
